From time to time, I am asked about apprenticeships, and how one would go about getting involved in the Tattooing business... And from time to time, I agree to teach someone how to tattoo. I have successfully taught 7 people in the last 10 years, all of whom are still working in reputable shops in the tri-state area. Learning to tattoo is no small task, and it requires a majority of your time for quite a while. It isn't for everyone, but if you think you have what it takes to apprentice with me at Oasis Tattoo, then keep checking in on this page in the days ahead, as more details will follow soon.(4/23/18)
UPDATE: I am ready to apprentice one lucky candidate in the Dayton area. Applications will begin to be accepted immediately. We are looking for someone who can be here enough to learn the intricacies and nuances of Tattooing. We would like someone with basic drawing skills and the ability to learn. The apprentice candidate must be reliable and trustworthy. The apprenticeship length is determined by the apprentices ability to learn, and therefore will vary. The average length of a tattoo apprenticeship is one to two years. The apprentice will learn the fundamentals of drawing, tattooing, tattoo styles, various equipment used in the business, and is only limited to the amount of knowledge the apprentice wants to gain from his apprenticeship. Email me for more info...(5/9/18)
